I have gpugrid and wcg running under bionc manager, on 2 machines, each a quad with an nvidia card. on each machine, in the simple view, the "time remaining" is increasing quickly, while the "time elapsed" is crawling. In advanced view, the resource share is set at 100 for wcg and 50 for gpugrid, equaling 2/3 wcg and 1/3 gpugrid. I have played around with different resource share settings in the gpugrid.net account settings, seemingly to no effect. wcg on both machines seems to be running normally. I've been messing with this for 2+ hours, and getting really frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that's weird. all mine defaulted at 50/50 resource share.. not sure what's going on with yours. sorry..

I have both of mine WCG and GPUGrid on 100%, I have not looked at the "time remaining" ever, I just let it run.

Edit: Mine are just like Mikes.

Mike & RR, Thanks, I got it to 50/50 resource share (100% for both gpugrid and wcg, looks like Mike's pic). Maybe I just shouldn't look at it until I wait a day or so. On my q9450 + 9800gtx, after about 2 hours, the elapsed time is up to almost 2 Minutes, and the time remaining is at 3+ Hours. very disconcerting

It seemed to take a while for mine to settle down after I got it working correctly. After a WU or two is should settle down. Once in awhile I'll see a queued WU est. completion at 16 days 08:59:45 but only takes 3 - 8 hours depending on WU. I think Boinc uses CPU time to do it's estimates and of course the real work is done on the GPU.

'nother werds "don't worry be happy"! :ROTF:

At least until it has completed 1 or 2.

yeah, I dont look at the time thing. what I do is
1. check my gpu temps to see if they are at load temps (at least 60c on both cards) and that tells me they are crunching..
2. check task mgr and make sure the cpu is at 100%.
3. make sure I have wcg tasks for all 4 cores running, and one gpu task running for each video card..

here's a Q6600 with 2 gts250's. as long as I have 6 tasks running and everything looks at load temp wise, then I know it's crunching. I just ignore the time estimates.

Thanks Mike, I'll check that tonight. Another question: what are your gpugrid preferences - resource share, and max cpu% set to? For some reason all my wcg crunchers are on 2 cores only today, even my 8 core system

Make sure you have 100% of processors is checked and 100% of CPU time is used. Under Processor Usage tab under Preferences.
