I load boincview and get the same as you guys...nice green page (first pic)

Then I start to get variations of yellow, grey etc (other pics)

You don't need to enlarge the thumbs you can see it.....Anyone tell me why this is???

The timeframe for the above 4 shots is only 5 mins....most of the time image 3 is typical

Grey = paused machine/WUs, Yellow is (I think) nearing deadline, red is over deadline.

Yellow means Boincview thinks the WU is running slowly. Just let everything run for a while and they will turn green. Grey means the WU is suspended. Either you suspended BOINC manually or the machine has just started up and the WU have not yet began to run. BOINc installs with a "delayed start" option so it takes about a minute to start crunching after a reboot.

Ok so I set the times to 60 secs (network) and boinc has been running for hours after reloading on a couple of machines in order to make boincview assign to the right folder easier.

I then Run boincview and get pic 1 ....a minute later I get pic 2....another minute pic 3 then 4 then 3 then 4......Going to leave it on for an hour .....gotta say I'm not holding my breath

How is your network setup? Are the crunchers and machine Boincview on same network and subnet? Looks to as though Boincview is getting bad latency or problems connecting on the refresh.

I agree with PoppaGeek. Because the problem gets worse and worse it would tend to point to latency adding upon itself.
I bet the computer in question is wireless and is set to check for new networks every 60 seconds or so.

I'm usually wrong though. :p:

OC did you get Boincview working ok?

Not sure what the issue is. Stilling waiting on whether it's wireless or not. But to get a better understanding of the default color-coding go to:

Boincview>options>Look

Just so ya know: The color codes can be changed. I changed mine to highlight Gpugrid WUs, because in bonicview's eyes they run slower, so it works. I don't have to hunt for them any longer....

I'd have to say not really I kinda gave up on it when I got to the stage of the thumbs I posted

If you're ever able to get it up then you'll be happy you did.

Naja,

I think most of us are using Boincview 1.2.5 .
Maybe someone could host the latest version ?

I've already sent out 2 copies, now if they send out 2 copies, etc, etc, etc.

Just PM me an email address, but please also make it available to others....so I don't have to email out 1K copies....

I found the below post, reply #9, HERE. (http://lunatics.kwsn.net/windows/boincview-and-boinc-6-6-14.0.html) (My bold and italics in the qoute..)

It is for boincview beta v1.5. Note the remark below that it may not be totally stable? I'll try it out. I'm running 1.4.2 here as well. The last link I had for downloading it went away.

So, I have 1.4.2 here, and link to 1.5. Could XS host it too, so we don't lose it?

Hi Darr,

Mike and I have just started to exchange about our projects. I'm trying hard to get a testable version for the end of may, but this will be at best a preprealpha. I will probably devote less time after that moment. For short, there will be many issues at start.

BMW is obviously a humorous attempt to name the application. Another proposal would be Boinc Workbench (BW), more neutral, shorter, maybe clearer.

I know well wireshark, I'm most of the time a networking consultant. It helped me start this project but is less used at my current project status.

On my side, I've created an account on SF and not yet created the project, but this is one of my goals. I may also get some support from my Boinc team (l'Alliance francophone); that would be a big improvement in the handling of the tests and support.

I'll let Mike express his own feelings about it.

Here is a link where I found BV 1.5.8beta, http://www.setigermany.de/upload/BoincView1.5.8beta.zip, it has some nice additions but is less stable (freezes, memory hog, impossible connection to some host) than the other versions I've tested.

Regards,
Maurice"

Post #3 in the same thread has a zip in the post for 1.4.2. You have to join this forum to DL the zip file apparently.

In seaching around, I also found http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=53666 thread about an alternative that is under development. Maybe we'll have some replacement at some time.

Regards,
Bob

Yes, thanks. I'm on ye olde 1.2.5 too so I'll have to download that at some point here soon (probably Saturday).
