Im having problems deciding which of these two is best to use on the EVGA classified..I had problems with EK in the past and there waterblocks being poorly measured not allowing me to insert graphics cards in properly, but it cools the mosfets also..The koolance one looks sexy metal but it dont cool the mosfets..What do you suggest I do.Have a look at the links for more information..

This is how the complete setup is suposed to look from koolance:

You can get the EK one from chilled also i would have gone for that myself but ive got the bitspower set :D

Same, if I was buying today i would get the EK all-in-one, but I already have the BP's.

Not a big fan of Koolance, and the Vreg/Mosfets are the only thing that would actually benefit from watercooling on that board so I would definitely go with the EK if I were buying.

EK design wins imo... less connections... 1 in, 1 out for NB SB Mosfets...

Plus the EK is just a little more than the Koolance NB/SB and mosfet blocks and you get the convience of one inlet and one outlet making tubing runs easier.

Sorry to chop up the quote...but I've highlighted the biggest factor.

Both look good, however the EK saves trees...err...tubing.

If you're looking for a third, less expensive option, you can just re-use the stock MOSFET and SB coolers and use an EK NB/SB 5 for the NB - that's what I'm currently doing with my 760.

I don't think the VREG/MOSFETS get hot on the Classified if you have decent case fans. Mine idle at 38c and Linpack64 to 50c @ 4.4GHz.

Guys im agreement with everyone.

if i had to rebuy, it would most likely be the EK becaue of its easier routing capabilities.

@ Kuntz what is your PWM frequency at?

@ PWM ramped up to max, they get toasty unless its on water.

@ Kuntz what is your PWM frequency at?

I don't have any reason to raise my PWM yet, as everything seems to be fine with it at stock, but as a test I cranked mine to full and it still had little effect on my temps. I'll go try again in a sec though...

This is with both my PWM freq's maxed out:

At 4.4GHz these numbers are about 4c higher...

The VREG heatsink itself is somewhat warm to the touch, but not nearly as warm as say the heatsinks on my AMD 9850 rig (air cooled). So the thermostat seems pretty accurate.

On my Classified, the Koolance VReg and NB blocks made a big difference for me.

The Koolance blocks perform very well, and are priced right. ;)

Kuntz, can you post a screen shot using Linx @ 4.4Ghz all memory used, with E-leet, or HWmonitor to show the V-regs tmep? My V-regs were pretty cool at stock, but went through the roof when OC'd. I have over 20 120mm 1500Rpm fans in my case, so I have decent airflow, + a 120mm spot fan on the Vregs, still pushed over 70C...

I have the EK Classified block on mine. I used the standoffs that came with it, and it made it REALLY tough to plug in my 8800GTX video cards. With a lot of force, they finally plugged in, but the EK block was just a half millimeter too tall. I do wonder if the standoffs are at fault, but I figure they included them for a reason, so I put them on

Well I can tell you I can do 4.2GHz and my VREG's are 54c! My corrupt Corsair memory wont let me go to 4.2GHz yet, but the VREG temp unstable is only 1c higher..

Keep in mind that you are partially cooling the VReg with the Koolance NB block (the little piece of the block that covers the small chips to the west of the NB).

With my EK block the VReg is still the hottest part of my board. They are, naturally, intended for high heat, but the "cooler the better" in my opinion.

I have both blocks. The EK is on my 759 and the Koolance is on my 760. Both are superb at cooling and just about neck-n-neck with temps. However, the EK just looks better. The lack of having the tubing running from the VReg to the NB is nice...aesthetics more than anything, but I like it.

Ah I never knew that about the Koolance (covering some of the VREGS).

I probably would have gone with the EK Block if they were sold in Canada at the time. But I've seen a lot of people say Koolance is a pretty good company/block maker, and since it was my first build, I kinda wanted to stick with what most people say works.

I can certainly understand that. As I stated, both blocks are just about tied as far as cooling goes. My bud has the BP block and we see very little differences with these three systems with the same kind of boards, rads, pumps, OC/voltages, etc.

What I would really like to do is put each block separately on the same board, same chips, same everything and try the comparisons. Unfortunately I'm too darn lazy because OCing and gaming are more important than testing... Go figure!
