Im going to restart my current project/WIP but before I can start anything, I need to decided on my pump and CPU block.

Firstly, colour scheme - Case is all clear acrylic, with green liquid and then green and UV LED's. Radiators are chromed, as is PSU and DVD drive casing.
(project link here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=162801 )

So, I want a CPU block. It needs to be able to take 1/2" ID compression fittings (preferably without extenders or using 45*'s) needs to be a good performer (more concerned by looks than performance though).

I'm currently looking at these three:

Swiftech GTZ SE (http://www.swiftnets.com/assets/images/products/apogee%20GTZ/APOGEE-GTZ-SEx800.jpg)

Watercool Heatkiller 3.0 (http://212.227.231.249/watercool/cms/shop_pics/14015.jpg)

Alphacool HF 14 Yellowstone (http://www.alphacool.com/shop/popup_image.php?pID=6014&imgID=0)

Now, I like the looks of the HK, and I can nickel/chrome plate it with ease, but I want to know what the top silver bit is made from, wether its aluminium or stainless steel, so do I need to powdercoat it, or anodise it.
The yellowstone has the right looks, but is it any good?
The GTZ SE looks damn cool, but is a bit pricey.

Secondly, pumps.

Will a DDC 3.2 and an XSPC top be able to go through 2x GTS 240's , 2x GPU blocks and a CPU block, as well as a very restrictive res?

And finally, any ideas on this res design?

On the Heatkiller, that top part comes off, so really there is no need to do anything to it as it looks good with the plated Heatkiller.
Gtz SE is cheaper then the Heatkiller, because your paying for the Hk 3.0 + plating while the GTZ SE already has it.

Edit, ddc should be ok, but then again how big is the res?

Here is some info on CPU blocks on Core I7: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224976

The res is 295x295x40mm (~12x~12x~1.7') all the channels are 4mm's

I'm sorry but that res to me defeats the purpose of having a res which is to fill/bleed. I fail to see how it is even supposed to bleed air.

Its there for the purpose of form rather than function. The air should come out fine, through the fill port on the top left of the res.

i think the res is kinda cool... except that it is more an aesthetic water routing...
perhaps a T-line system with this to serve as a reserve reservoir... less active...

as for the patterns, instead of such geometric shapes, why not design after some of the routing seen on circuit boards...
and also, if it's dual loop, have 2 layers.. so it's like the blood flowing through your system...

kudos on creativity!
