Help with Sossaman/comp Network

Ok so I want to setup the 5 Sossaman and another comp to my internet network. I have a 4 port/wireless router upstairs where my main systems are-The sossamans are downstairs connected to "workgroup switch" that was lying around at work and I have a wire running from the router upstairs to the switch. Is the switch the correct hardware to be using because there is a signal but I am not getting an internet connection on any of the comp's. Any help would be appreciated so I can have these babies connected to the net 24/7

Is there some form of driver for the switch?....Mine are connected to an old 10/100 3com hub and although Vista sees the workgroup it says I have no internet, xp recognises everything and.....all the rigs connect with no problem.

Did you use a uplink connection or cross over cable for the connection from switch to router?

Think I got it-somewhere said you can not use port 8. Also I believe some of the ports are dead got the 3 running and connected Thank you
