CPU's temperature is 55c (130F) idle!

My system:
ASUS P5KL-CM
E6600 @ stock (CPU-Z reports Vcore 1.344v)
2GB GSkill HK

WC:
D-TEK Fuzion -> MCP655 -> Thermochill triple rad -> Swiftech triple rad (Yes to the overkill )

I'm planning to add ATI HD4850 to the loop very soon, but the current temps are weird. Could it be that the sensors are wrong? Because in my previous board, P5B-Deluxe, my idle temps were about 30c. I should mention that while touching the fuzion block it is not warm at all. What should I do?

And, what would be better. Fuzion -> MCW60 -> MCP655 -> Rads, or Fuzion -> Rad -> MCW60 -> MCP655 -> Rad? or no real difference?

Thanks

Hmm thats odd, On my school pc rig the loop goes.

Res>Pump>Rad1>NB>GPU>Rad2>CPU>Res

My CPU is at about 24C
NB is at 28C
GPU is at 26-30C.

My pump is operating at option 4 though, 5 seems a tad too loud and the performance is about the same. Ill see the temps if i run at 3 because thats default for the B version but check your TIM or maybe reapply it.

My temps are non lapped or oced. Its for school

looks like you epic failed at your block mounting... my Q6600 at 3.6GHz idles at 42 w 1.5v jammed into it and 60 at 100% load

Could be the mount, but it could be some kind of obstruction as well. Is your flow still good?

Flow's good.. I will remount the block & reapply TIM soon and report back.

Air in your loop?

Holy cow there is something definitely wrong. Did you put water in the loop? I have the D-Tek Fuzion v1 block and my Q6600 is at 29 idle with 3,6ghz and 1.5v. 33 idle at 4.06ghz at 1.65 volts. So something definitely wrong with your setup as I am running a Dual GPU and also the whole mobo as well in the same loop with only 2 240GTX rads.

re-seat the block

What are you using to monitor temps with?

What are you using to monitor temps with?

Shouldn't matter much. He is reading his core temps, hence the reference to the poorly calibrated sensors. Core Temp, Real Temp, Everest. They all read the same info and give thesame temps, if the TJ Max is set properly.

What are you using to monitor temps with?
BIOS, SpeedFan, Core Temp

BIOS, SpeedFan, Core Temp

Re-mount the block, I wanted to make sure that you weren't just going off of bios reported temps as I have frequently seen some very inaccurate readings.

Hey, is E6600 B2's TjMax 70c? that's according to here (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/intel-dts-specs,news-29460.html). If that's correct then my real cpu temperature is 40c and not 55c, because Core Temp's TjMax value is 85c. any help on this?
of course 40c is still not great, but at least it's closer to reality.

A stock e6600 with that much radiator should be idling somewhere near ambient and full load shouldn't be much higher. I would expect your temps to remain within 5-10c of ambient at full load assuming you are actually using fans...are you?

I was, untill I discovered they don't really make a difference. I left 1x120mm on every rad.. rads are still cold, temperatures haven't changed.

so you have 1 120mm on each rad or 1x 120mm in each 120mm spot, totally 6 or 12 fans? if you only' have 2 fans on your triples thats your problem. did the temps just rise all of a sudden?

As I said temperatures haven't changed when going from 6 fans to 2 fans, and the rads are pretty cold.. so IMO it is not the problem.
