I have been looking for some alternative fans to my 140mm Yate Loons (1000rpm), but don't know what the static pressure is of current available 140m fans. My fans pull air through the radiator and out the top of the case. I am looking for some non LED, around 1200rpm fans.

Any recommendations? Sharoon, Xigmatek?

4x70mm fans work well

or the koolance 140s

Yate Loons M or Koolance? Cant decide, they seem like the best 2 from what I have read so far.

San Ace 109P1412M101 (38mm thickness) would probably be the best combo of static pressure, cfm and loudness...but at $35 a pop these aren't exactly cheap...

Where those at $35? The lowest I can find: "Price: $72.79" each.

Hmm, I was going to paste a link to newark but then I noticed they don't have the 109 series anymore. Maybe 109 models are being phased out overall or something I wonder...

38mm is to thick for my case.

Do Scythe make 140mm fans? If they did I would mostly likely get one as my case is decked out with 120mm S-Flex's.

I have 3 140mm Xigmatek on the Monsta, and I'm planning to get 3 more for push/pull. They're at 1000rmp @ 63CFM (<16dBA). I'm not sure about the <16dBA rating; they are loud to me but bearable (I'm noise conscious :)). To test their power, I placed a folded Bounty paper towel about 3-4 inches away from the radiator, those fans literally sucked the paper towel to the radiator.

Have Yate Loon mediums on mine, really impressed with them. They are quiet and you can really feel the air moving through the monsta and best of all they are only like 5 bucks each :D

I read on Newegg that the Xigmatek's make a clicking noise when mounted horizontally. Hows your Monsta mounted nzone?

I am tempted by the med speed Yates. Waiting on a reply from Petra's of how much shipping will be to the UK.

I've tried all directions except under the radiator, but I don't hear any clicking noise. However, the fan motor does not sound smooth as those premium Noiseblocker Multiframe S series.

I dont know if they have Sharkoon fans where you are, but ive 6x1200rpms, mounted horizontally on my Monsta controlled with an Zalman controller and no clicking.
They do 1000 and 1500rpm models too, pretty cheap at £6.50ea i thought.

i second Affiliate13, i also use 6 x 1500rpm sharkoon, not the best out there but it's cheap.

I can get the Sharkoons here and they would be about the same price as getting Yate Loons M shipped over from Performance PC's.

Hmmm, which to go for?

Sharkoon vs Yates, i dunno.
Ive not seen a direct comparrison.

Will you be using a controller with them?

I ask as you could just get 3/6 of the fastest ones and just run them at the speed/volume that best suits you.

Yeah I would put them on my Akasa fan speed controller. So whichever I get I can change the speed. It will cost me $20 to get fans shipped over here (Yate's or Koolance) and its not insured or tracked. Or I could just get the Sharkoon's over here.

This is the last bit of upgrading I am doing and I will be rebuilding my whole PC as soon as I can decide on these fans.

I wish I wasn't so picky.

Naa picky is good, picky helps avoid disapointment.:D

Do the Yates go to 1500rpm?
The faster Shakoons do, so given they are going on a controller you might be better off with them, unless there are some quicker Yates ive not seen.

Will you be using shrouds?

there are yate D14SH fans - one catch though, the only place you can find them is inside of a nice powersupply :shakes: Alex (Petra) hear our calls and bring yate D145SH fans to the states in retail availability! :)

Seems that they love the Yates, I would expect them to be decent given their overall reputation.

I havent noticed the hum they mention with my Sharkoons, and mine are horizontal on the rad at 7v-9v.

Maybe i need to get some Yates! :D

Thanks for the link.
