I've seen all sorts of laptops breaking, including Acer. However, somehow, mostly it was the same people who got unlucky with their hardware. I personally came to the conclusion that actual hardware failure is ~10-30% of all the claims about 'broken laptop'. Rest was entirely software dependent (bios/drivers/OS etc.) and 'customer' dependent (most will believe that such thing does not exist, however I am sure many admins have found out that there are people who just attract/brake stuff... there is explonation for such 'miracles' out there).

The point is - I find Acer pretty much on the same level as any other well known manufacturer. Of course, the build quality of Apple is higher and VAIOs might have better design for some models but at the end, most comes to hardware used and specs of a particular model (including the build/plastic used, weight etc.).

A college of my has an Acer with a 15.6" screen (that is closer to your model then my Aspire 5920). The finish is good, however, I personally dont like the 16:9 ratio and definately prefer 1280x800 to 1366x768. Unfortunately, seems like most (Acer including) are going for this trend.

If you are fine with the weight of the laptop and the fact that you will never be able to get the gaming performance of similarly prised PC - go for Acer (from your list).

Obviously - erase all the bloatware which comes with it. My recommendation is to format the drive. It may very much take less time to install everything from scratch then to delete/configure/install missing software. You get top performance this way too.

The HDD will be the slowest part of Acer. If you can - get and SSD for it and use 320gb as external space (it will fly).

Think about:
- what sort of games you play and what IQ you want to have
- do you plan to use external display or not (if yes, what resolution it has)
- how often are you planing to move around with the laptop (taking it with you to business trips etc.)

Btw, I have not found a single gaming laptop from those you have listed. 9600M GS simply would never cut it for me. I have Aspire 5920 and well, I did play a bit of CS:S with medium settings @1680x1050, but any newer game would mean low settings for sure.

List the games you play/want to play and what are you expectation so that I'll try helping some more.

Check out this (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-of-Graphic-Cards.130.0.html) list. Pretty much all real gaming laptops will have class 1 graphics, as well as GeForce 9650M GT and above in class 2. Below that (imo) - it is a normal laptop.

Edit:

I took a second look at your choices and think that this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152108) MSI will be the best option (and my pick out of 4). ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 is simply the strongest GPU from these 4 laptops. CPU is also fine. The big advantage of MSI compare to Acer will be it's weight. It is significantly lighter and in fact it's one of the lightest 16" laptops out there. It also has HDMI/eSata and all the goodies you may need. You should be happy with the purchase. Basically it is a good laptop for everything including some gaming - thats where I would put it. Recommendation regarding SSD stays the same.

thanks men, you realy help me. with choices.
with your mencion of hard drive, i will of course format the drive and install my personal OS. for runnning faster.
And Yes, i will planning move some with laptop, because of this, i buy it. i have other 2 pc in my house for personal use, but i sell one to use laptop istead of this.
the games i play its not very streesful, but some are a hard to handle to gaming laptop, witch are Call of duty 4 and 5, Command and Conquer 3 kane's, Age of empires 3, Race Driver grid, sims.
I not think use a second display for the moment.

and i agree i find better option the msi, do you mencion, because have better gfx.
i think i will buy the second choice :D, thanks for the help.

The GPU in the MSI is in a whole different league than all the others.
If gaming is what you want, the MSI EX is by far the best option.

Welcome dude. I think the games you mentioned will run on medium/high settings on that MSI laptop for sure. Just play around with settings for best IQ, thats it. Check out TweakGuides (http://www.tweakguides.com/) for some info on how to get most out of many popular titles.

Personally i think that any laptop at 500 to 1200 range is NOT gaming laptop.

Gaming laptop would be one with 3ghz core2 t-series cpu, 4gb ram, ssd disk, 18" lcd with resolution greater than 1680x1050 and radeon 4870 maybe even 4870x2 graphics card.

That kind of system can go over 2000$.

But best that you can get from those 4 is that MSI with Radeon HD4670

i kinda agree. seems like what most people want instead of a gaming laptop is a laptop that can game. similar wording but different price levels. i also think spending more than $1500 on a laptop is a bad bang for your buck since upgradability is far superior on desktops therefore longevity is better. just my 2 cents :)
