...yeah, according to this article (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/09/fedora_11_review/), and it's been reported already in the past, the use of EXT4 (filesystem) could occasionally provoke data loss, due to a delayed allocation function of data that could in some rare cases not be written in time to hard disk...well I've run EXT4 during 2 months on misc versions of Mandriva 2009.1, and never encountered data loss...as to the gains compared to EXT3, I haven't noticed anything either ;)

which is very much normal as i doubt your machine is crashing all the time (data loss/old meta data) and as far as i remember only few of ext4's improvements have already been developed and included.

i'm still frantically waiting for btrfs. likely to join my debian stable in about 10 years :ROTF:

My good old xfs volumes keep ticking along, nice of ext to catch up to them :p

nice in keeping up with the data loss?? :rofl:
