I need to get some new tubing. I'm using 7/16 ID tubing right now. I need something that is decent, but not too expensive. Petras has 2 choices. A 3 dollar a foot option which is too much, and a 60 cent option which seems to be a bargain.

Is it decent tubing? What is the difference between the two? Does any other store sell colored tubing for less than 2 bucks a foot?

masterkleer is a newbie's best friend.

and im being serious.

get a lot if your still new in looping.

Difference, masterkleer will cloud in about 3-6 months depending on how often you drained your system. But if your a newbie, your still tweeking your loop, so it wont be up long enough.

Colored tubing is expensive, because there very soft and have no plastercizer leech. If your gonna go colored, my 2 favorates are Primochill LRT and Fesser, but they both cost a lot.

Also, if I get clear tubing, would this be a good choice for anti-growth and coloring?

If I get colored tubing I'll just get some PT Nuke.

no...

stay away from dye bombs as they contain a water wetter and trust me you dont want that stuff ANYWHERE in your loop unless your mixing metals.

Well I'm not exactly a newbie. I just don't know much about what people usually do to their loops, but I know about what parts to use etc. I have had this loop for a year and drained it only 3 times.

Also, how is this tubing?

What coolant should I get then?

primochill is what i use.

i like it a lot.

Coolant... just use straight distilled and add a kill coil to your loop. Or get bitspower true silver barbs on 2 components and run it that way.

But get colored tubing and run it straight distilled vs. colored coolant.

Also, is this blue tubing only blue under UV, or is it a blue without the UV also?

I've been running masterklear for around a year now, and yes it clouds, but not THAT bad. It's definately great for its price. I just refuse to spend over 6 times the price for something that might or might not cloud.

The pump will be a bit farther back, where the hdd tray is.

Get a piece of string and measure what you need. Don't forget to add a bit on for mistakes and the like.

IMO tygon is really weak compared to primochill pro LRT and I'm pretty sure the primo is cheaper too....

that recent poll shows that the expensive and high end tygon tubing clouds up also...

and also, if you're gunna get masterkleer JT has it cheaper than PTS.

i like the idea of easier bending/colored tubing, but i'm having trouble justifying paying 3x the price for that..

primo hasnt clouded tho.

thats why its more expensive... and if it does, the color tubing wont show it.

Order 20 feet of masterklear, use that until you figure out exactly how you want your loop. Once you finalize it, then tear it down and order a foot more than you used of the expensive stuff. I know i have changed my loop order at least 5 times in the last year. Thats the other reason i stay with the cheap stuff :)

Mine has but I didn't know until I cut a section off and compared it to fresh tubing. You really can't see it at all. The amount of clouding in my res was nothing compared to what happens to some folks who use clearflex etc.
