kx7 I/O volts question....

ive never played with it before and never adjusted it but what exacly does the I/O voltage adjustment do? why would you use it/need it?

usually the KX7 has a great I/O voltage...i set mine to default +3.3v but it usually sits around +3.4-+3.45, if i then set it to +3.45v it will sit at +3.5....
so just leave it at default and it should be fine

the I/O voltage selection allows higher clock speeds to be reached when overclocking your AGP Card.

thanks :) im used to running epox..... they call it "agp voltage" but with the bandwidth this kx7 has abit can call it anything they want :D

My personal test's on my KR7A showed me that upping the IO voltage from 3.55 to 3.65 resulled in a Vcore increase of +0.1 and the memory volts of my R8500 when't up from 3.30 to 3.40

Some people Vmod their board to give an higher IO voltage. On my next board I'm going to do the same, as it's an easier way to get your AGP card to clock higher without having to solder on the card !!

To bad I didn't know this earlier when I had my mobo Vmodded :(
didn't know to much about Vmodding a year ago, and asked a guy to Vmod my bord doing Vcore, Vddr & Vio. He said nobody has asked for a Vio mod, and that it doesn't do much for your system. So he talked me out of it, (that and he had never done it ;) )

I/O has helped me on my KX7 board, when i get around 180Mhz my AGP card was crapping out in 3dmark, it could bench sandra all day and same as prime, but i raised the I/O voltage and now it is all fine.
