well i have this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=property&DEPA=1) psu (i bought it when i didnt know that much, but it works still...) and my 5v line was sagging to about 4.7 or so and my 3.3v was 3.3v but my 12v line was at about 12.6. i took it apart and saw a pot install so i turned it a little, and now my 5v line is about 5.026, the 3.3 is about 3.28v, and my 12v line is about 13v!! is 13v too much? i know most people have it about 12.75 or so, but i wasnt sure and just wanted to double check.

13 is still within what intel specs say. I see them running at over 13 all the time at work. Up to 13.25V is pretty normal.

can i assume the same with amd? a sec ago with it under load, it jumped to i about 13.2v and the asus probe warned me. if that happens during games, it will interfer with the game play, i think im gonna drop it just a tad so it borderlines the warning, but never quite gets there.

thanks for ur help csoft, greatly appreciated!

Your 12v rail is fine until you start hitting above 13.5v or so.

That 12v rail also runs into most video cards on amd platforms, so pushing it to far may overload what the ICs on the card can regulate.

I have seen 12v rails as high as 17v..which is ludacris.

I had an 8rda+ that took my 12v rail up to about 13.2 or 13.3 under load. It ran fine, the mobo just had voltage issues.
