Anyone using it? In the Swiftech spec it says it can be used on it's side w/out using the res. I don't get how that would work or how you'd disable the res for that.

Anyone tried this thing? I have one here but I don't really want to set it up vertically as I'm setting this up next to a workbench, not in a case.

I have used the 220 with res on its side.
Works fine, you just have to tilt it or hold it up-right to fill.
Then lay her over and you should be good to go.

If you mount it vertically, it has a port on the top for use as a fill hole/res. If you don't use the port as such (like laying it on it's side), then it's just a regular radiator.

What they mean by using it without the res is that you have some other means to fill your loop, otherwise you will have an air bubble trapped inside the rad.

Gotcha guys, thanks.

I'm going to give this rad a whirl and use it vertically. How about putting it vertically on a bracket in front of my AC to suck cold air through the unit?

BTW, this is the loop -

355pump/XSPC Top > MCR320-Res > Koolance CPU 350

Loop should go this way:
rad output to cpu input, cpu output to res input, res output to pump input, pump output to rad input.
I like that idea of hanging the rad in front of the AC unit..
Definately can't hurt.

TX man, the res is built into this rad and there's no in and out for it, just for the rad.

Actually, loop order should be pump>K350>MCR320Res. This way the block gets the best pressure from the pump. I purposely left out the XSPC res because that's part of the pump.
