I've had 3 via's 1300, I found them relatively quiet. I also have an Eheim 1250 and a Via Aqua 2600. Out of the bunch the Via IMHO is quieter.

sry for the off topic, but can someone tell me where can i get a danner mag 3 in canada? Does it have 1/2"ID barbs?

I get the Danner MAG pumps at the pet store here in El Paso, and they don't always come with the barbs, but 1/2" will fit on them.

You gotta have some pet stores, or some place that sells yard decor, like front yard ponds with little waterfalls and such. Find a store that sells large aquariums, the might have them too.

no petsmart, i can only find PetCetera and Super Pet. I went to their online stores and seems like they dun have anything. Maybe i hafta go to the actual retail store.

wow i looked at both their websites and they suck to say the least.
Not sure but i think http://www.petsmart.com/ ships to canada as well

I have a mag drive 7 and cant hear it. Also i via 1300, the via is quieter i guess. Smaller.
I've used 3 via's in computers i've built no problems and nice price for as good as they pump

The Via 1300 is one-third the price of the Eheim 1250. Nebulous says the Via is quieter -- which is a key consideration for me in moving to water -- but how's the quality on those pumps? I can;t seem to find any detailed specs. Is there any reason why I should pay so much more for either the Eheim or a Hydor L30? Thx.
Are you guys glueing the impellers to the shafts? They are completly silent after doing this.

Poki, I saw that someplace but can't find the URL now. I think the guy was trying to quiet down a Danner? The before/after sound files were great.
Any pump that has an anti-clog feature allows the impeller to freewheel about 3/4's of a rotation on the shaft/armature. When allowed to freewheel like this, it basically hammers the stoppers on the shaft/armature making extra noise. All one needs to do is glue or weld the shaft/armature solid. All you should hear now is just a small hum.
I read about it years ago... You'll have to google it to find pics/more info. Very simple/quick fix.
