my 5900U is no more, should I get a 9800Pro to replace it??

Yes

The 5950U is a joke.

Even with a cascade and R410 cooling at a bazillion Ghz overclock it sucks wind.

the problem with the 5950 is simple.
the only driver you can use is the 5216.

thats the slowest possible driver you can have...
unless you can figure out how to force that card to use the 5900 drivers, by replacing the INF files or something, that cards always gonna suck...
it will take some hacking of the lower drivers, like the 4403 to really show that cards power.

unfortunatly, your pretty much screwed with the driver selection for the 5950...
