I can't seem to find any type of unisink or other cooling solution for the remainder of a 55nm core 216 with an mcw60 on it. What would you recommend?

I'm afraid it doesn't exist, we don't have to expect anything from D-Tek imo... maybe Gabe (Swiftech) will come up with one, there IS one for the 285 but I don't think we're gonna see one for the 260 55nm though :(

Besides that, why don't you go with a fullcover block?

I considered that option too. But I only have a dual 120mm rad in my loop and no real room for a second one or a second loop. I was hoping for a gpu only block for better performace. What fullcover blocks fit the 55nm core 216? Also if I bought individual sinks for the ram/vrms how many would I need? And one last question, how can I tell (when i get my card) which version it is? Do I have to take off the cooler or is there an easier way?

You could check the backside of the PCB to see what version you have, also looking at the position of the screws at the end of the card can tell you which one you have.
Fullcover blocks are not that much worse than a gpu-only block and I doubt that your radiator will have more trouble with a fullcover than with a gpu-only block.

Sounds like I might as well go the full cover route then. Which blocks are compatable with each version of the 55nm core216? Which of those would you reccomend?

I know EK has good blocks, but Koolance, Danger Den and Aquacomputer have fullcovers as well, first of all you should double check if they have blocks matching the card, I know EK does so I went with that one.
You could mail the waterblock manufacturers, that way you'll be sure I guess ;)

I've been doing some more looking around and it seems to me (based on heat output and performance) that a 4870 might be a better pick for me. It produces slightly less heat than the core 216 which is good because I'm already going to be pushing my dual rad with this setup. Do you know if the MCW60 is compatable with it and if there is a unisink aswell? If not I guess I'll go fullcover, which from what I understand all perform and cost about the same? Thanks again for all the help.

arent 275 and 260 similar ?

i pretty sure gabe will release one for 275 which could possibly work on 260

yes , the 260 55nm and 275 have a similar pcb.
