My daughter's B-day is 5/5. I waited 2-1/2 weeks for a special case (unpainted raw aluminum) and when I got it I was so disappointed that I won't even get it powdercoated now...:(
I think I have located all the pink cases available but I was hoping that someone here might have a link for a nice one.
I need to order and overnight the case today so I can make my deadline. Fast help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance:up:

Sure you've done this but:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010090007%201054919218&name=Pink
Can't just get whatever case you want and sandblast and powder coat it? Or you don't have time to do so? Guy around here will blast and coat a case in a single color for $30.

Good Luck with this one! I was searching for something similar for the grandkids ... this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156187) is the best I could come up with (but haven't ordered it yet).
(I'm sure you already scoped out the ones on Newegg ... but posting this just in case. It's supposedly steel, so better than the plastic ones)

My PC guys have the special order powder on hand but turnaround is going to be tight. I would be biting my fingers off wondering if they could get it turned around in time. The plan was to bring the raw case I got today there today and then it would still be tight. Thanks though.

Yeah I've searched and searched but I appreciate the link.
I'm not entirely thrilled with the case I got but I'll make it work.
Thanks!

I really wanted to make her a super special case custom powdercoated and thought I had it all lined up but the case I got is a real disappointment to me. At nearly $300 it's also an expensive disappointment :(
Just curious, which case was it? (the dissappointing one)
Oh, if you had gone with mATX this might have worked out good:

That's a neat case. But it's gotta be a pink waterputer...
I'm not bashing the case I just got...it's just frustrating me. Frankly it's better than all those other options...I've taken it apart to inspect it more closely and it's not the design that frustrates me, it's the last details that don't meet up with my expectations. Maybe I just expect too much...

You could always do something to "delay" the date but build the excitement for her too. Like set up a scavenger hunt that will take a few days so by the time she finishes you can have the case built how you want it :D

Well I decided to roll with the PC Design Labs QV2E I received this morning. The powdercoat was supposedly ordered weeks ago but apparently not so I can't get it coated until THURSDAY...yikes...

Maybe I'll go with a "My Little Pony" theme since it looks like a barn :p:

Because I own tools...not toys :D
But thanks for the link.
A common household oven cannot maintain a steady temp like the big railroad car sized ovens the facilities use. The little gun and the easy bake method might work for smaller items...but not large flat panels...

also, look at the customer reviews for that Powdercoat gun, awful...
CD, here is a build link that some guy did for his fiancee. Not sure if it will help, but maybe some ideas.

it's a same that the time is tight, I think Abee had some pink cases. But they cost a small horse and you'd have to find someone to ship it. . :(

I like the fur...but that wouldn't last long...peanut butter...playdoh...it's be a nasty mess this time next year.
@SNiiPe
The Qmicra is a lovely case. The QV2E is a revision of that case that looks a lot like it but has a few details that I find fault with...the use of rubber C Channel to make up the gap between chassis and cover really sticks out. When you spend close to 3 bills for a case do you really want to look at C Channel instead of a properly conceived and executed connection? I mean even as a modder there is a time and place for C Channel.
And the case is promoted as LC friendly. Well you still have to give up features to run LC. You can't use the nifty HDD mounts on the rad side...in fact if you wanted to use a pair of fans on each side you couldn't use the HDD racks at all...you'd have to cut them down to single drive racks to allow for the fan. But then there is a large unused space in the front under the ODD drives. I mean how much room do you really need for a pump? A clever HDD rack could be fitted there I guess...or maybe a 120mm radiator...and unless you fab up a bracket to mount the rad to the chassis the rad is going to come off with the cover...that's a PITA. It requires leaving a service loop and/or using QDs.
I dunno...it's a sturdy case. The material is a heavy gauge. There are some neat design features...but I would think the place to mount a rad is in the front...however it's a 1/2" too narrow to take one...why? I dunno...just is.

Have you though about a MM case? Do you have to have it powder coated? What about an autobody shop and some pink paint??

I already have the powdercoat lined up. Powder will arrive Thursday (tomorrow) so I've been hustling to get all the prep done.

I watched them use that gun on one of the hot road shows on TV. One of the really popular ones(forget which exact one tho...) and they were painting some big things using a household oven. It worked really well and is the only reason I know that they existed.
