All X58 motherboards can do 21x multi since Intel unlocked the bioses

Is turbo mode ON or OFF ? My DFI will only accept 20x as Non-Turbo multi.

I think Asus have the option to choose Multiple directly within the cpu multiple instead of making the turbo do the job as other boards.

thanks for the clarification, so as i understand it the only way to get 21 multi on all for cores is with these 2 mobos correct ?

Just curious: Is there any method to get 21 multi on only some cores? :p:

As far as i know ASUS RAMPAGE II GENEs have the special bios to unlock 21 multi too.

Most mobos can do this. The only difference between turbo mode and non-trubo is that turbo auto-disables itself at a certain power draw (I think it is power draw). On DFI boards you can enable Set VR Current limit Max to disable this, and turbo works just like any other multi. I am pretty sure the Foxconn boards and Gigabyte boards can do this as well.

I thought that if turbo was on all most other mobos the 21 multi is usable but its actually just one core. Please correct me if i am wrong. I was under the impression that on the asus mobos its different because you can actually turn off turbo and have a 21 multi.

Nope. All mobos can do 21x on all cores or 22x on one core.

aight cool, I have heard so much conflicting info on this, does the bi-directional PROCHOT setting on all the giga x58's have any bearing on this?

thanks !
