What are you all using to take and read your water temps?

I am using 2 Bitspower temp probes that are plugged in to the motherboard which also reads on the Alphacool screen on the front of the case.

I used these when I first started, and for anything other than logging type testing, it's really all you need for a little troubleshooting and understanding what your system is doing and where the weakest link is.

For $5, you can have it shipped:
No need to mount permanently, drop one down the t-line or reservoir and the second mounted near the inlet of your radiator or move the air thermometer around to see how your airflow changes. Invaluable tool.

For testing and logging purposes, the crystalfontz CFA-633 is an invaluable tool for recording accurately and logging all this data over a period of time. It really helps you see errors in testing by viewing results plotted over periods of time and a fun tool. I don't think you need that for general purpose use, that's where some simple probes like the aquarium thermometers are nice.

I was looking over my ASUS P6T deluxe V2 and i don't see anywhere to plug the bitspower temp into. So I am kinda stuck at the moment on what to do. I really would like a LCD screen on the front of my Cosmos S case but not sure what LCD has the plug for the bitspower.

I've got the BP temp plug in the top of my reservoir, connected to the Aquaero. Perhaps not ideal, but it works well.

Just for the record, I've owned about 15 of those thermometers at one time. I probably have ~8 now. For aquariums they do the job, but I think most of us like a bit more accuracy. Those are +/-2C....which is a 4 degree range.

I also have a glass photo processing thermometer that is (supposed to be) accurate to 0.25F. I used that to check the thermometers linked above and it turns out that the difference was right on to 1.8F off. I think out of ~14 only 2 were accurate. Most were about 0.8F off one way or the other.

If ya just want a ball park figure then they will do the job......

Least this gives me one option of a bay device to monitor my temps. Will this monitor 2 loops?

Crystalfontz 633 LCD display, with digital sensor probes. Handy little thing if you don't mind stringing some wires together, and more accurate than regular temp probes.

if you are not already doing so, you all should be calibrating these TCs. Put them in some boiling water and see how close they are to 100C, then make an ice-bath and see how close they are to 0C..
