Unfortunately not.
I rarely get any release info/change-list.

P06 seems to be the most stable, bug-less BIOS for 24/7.
G22 looks good for benching.

BenchZowner,

If you would also not mind posting what switches to use when flashing the bios from awdflash USB stick method.

That would be of help for me, as I will bookmark this thread for quick reference.

BenchZowner,

If you would also not mind posting what switches to use when flashing the bios from awdflash USB stick method.

That would be of help for me, as I will bookmark this thread for quick reference.

Here's how I flashed my board using my USB Flash Disk Drive:

1) Download the SFX Installer containing a Windows 98SE Boot Disk Image & the HP USB Storage Format Tool from here ( Click me! ) (http://www.benchzone.com/Downloads/HPtoolWIN98image.exe)

2) Run the HPtoolWIN98image.exe and press the Install button.

3) After the extraction process the SFX Installer will automatically launch the setup program for the HP USB Storage Format tool.
Continue the installation via the setup wizard as usual.

4) Plug in your USB Flash Disk Drive, and open up HP's USB Storage Format tool.
Select your USB Drive at the "Device" drop-down menu.
Set the File System to FAT32.
Give your volume a label ( e.g. FLASH )
In the format options field:
tick the "Quick Format" option
tick the Create a DOS startup disk and select the "using DOS system files located at" option and press the "..." button ( Browse ) and set it ( select ) to point at C:\Temp\Windows 98SE Boot Disk directory

Finally press the "Start" button and wait for the format process to finish.
When done, close the HP USB Storage Format tool by pressing the... close button

5) Now open the flash drive @ My Computer and copy and paste the BIOS File ( 8A1F1G13 ) and the awdflash.exe file that I'm going to link as well.

download awdflash.exe ( click me! ) (http://www.benchzone.com/Downloads/awdflash.exe)

6) Now restart the PC and boot from your USB Drive.

At the command prompt type the following command:

awdflash 8A1F1G13.BIN /py /sn /Wb /cd /cc /cp /ch /H2

and press enter.
Give it some time, it will load the AWDflash utility, and automatically input the commands.

P06 seems to be the most stable, bug-less BIOS for 24/7.
G22 looks good for benching.

so there is a difference between benching and 24/7

what do you consider the good qualities that
you recommend for benching, and 24/7

i have 3 BR's boards now so i'm interested is what bios i should be using and 1 is for benching and 2are my 24/7 workstations...

thanks in advance/

I just switched to P06 and there is very easy methode for flashing it. Create a bootable USB Stick, copy AWDFLASH, your BIOS and an Autotexec.bat on it.
Edit the Autoexec.bat to:
@echo off
cls
@ECHO OFF
C:\AWDFLASH xxxxxxx.BIN /cks/sn/py/cc/cd/cp/ld/qi/WB/ch
echo "The version of BIOS was inaccurate,"
echo "Please remove the floppy, download the right one and re-flash."
@ECHO OFF
(xxxxxxx.BIN is standing for your BIOS)

After you restarted, check that your Harddrive is first Bootpriority and the USB Stick is first Bootpriority in drives. Load Optimized Defaults and reboot. After that your Bios should flash automaticly.
Little Edit, because my order was a bit wrong (of course you have to load optimized defaults before setting Boot Priorities..)

What does P08 specifically do that P06 does not? I saw the "Update Intel RC code to version 1.03.4.", but what does that mean?

DaKon
05-11-2009, 03:53 PM
The only things that I have gathered is that it did a Update Intel RC code to version 1.03.4. My assumption is that is a microcode update. I am testing the p08 now.

For me it has seemed to improve memory compatibility as I am able to push my Mushkins more than before. I have previously used p06 p07 and g22.

Microcode update.. hm.. for new CPU? Then its kinda same as P07 or probably even P06.

I have a D0 engineering sample, I can only get it to windows in safe mode and overclock there. It worked fine on a GA-EX58-UD3R with a decent OC.

Currently have the G13 bios, is there one with better support for the about to be released CPUs?

BenchZowner

Flash to P06 immediately and your life will become better & easier in a flash ;)

Mescalamba

Or P07 which is for D0's .. or not?

It's currently on G22 but I cannot OC in BIOS, using Aegis is fine but turbo's not kicking in and the RAM (3x2GB Dominator GT 2000MHz) isn't set up right.

Added BIOS setup control item "PCI Express Bus Clock".
Added BIOS setup control item "CPU QPI Latency".
Added BIOS setup control item "IOH QPI Latency".
Added BIOS setup control item "CPU QPI Drive Strength".
Added BIOS setup control item "IOH QPI Drive Strength".

Added "Current Timings" item.
Added "CPU Hardware Prefetcher" item.

Modify "DRAM Voltage" default from 1.85V to 1.70V for "Memory Profile Select"
Auto and "Virtual XMP" Enabled.
Modify "CPU VTT (UnCore) Voltage" default from added 5 step to 9 step for
"Memory Profile Select" Auto and "Virtual XMP" Enabled.
Modify for BIOS item "QPI Target Speed" show wrong speed.
Modify BIOS POST CPU speed string from 3.06GHz to 3.07GHz for 950 CPU.
VID defaults for some older CPU how sorted

am the not working list is like this

PCI-E clock(still been worked on ) so you can get to 102.4 but helps a little on bclk
Cas Latency 1 lower then it should be
CPU and IOH QPI Latency options - if you scroll up from auto to 256, it doesn't let you scroll back down to 0

so have fun

I am having an issue, I followed your OP instructions but on start up it looks like it is going to load command promt but all I get is a black screen never loads the command line. the AWDflash.exe and p-08 bin are the only files on the pen drive.

Nevermind I figured it out, for some reason when it went into boot from flash drive my monitor went blank but turning the monitor off then back on made the command text appear.

So is there a BIOS that fixes issues with extreme processors and vcore jumping around? My 3570 doesn't operate at higher multipliers than 24, which is a shame, because I would like the board for benching purposes. (I have the G25 BIOS)

Hahaha, no, you're wrong :D

My previous and some current contacts from a few manufacturers.

If it was an ex-Foxconn employees list, then I guess ( not confirmed ) that Carl B. ( Lord Trident ) should be in that list as well ( hopefully he's still there )

Don't think the BloodRage has a write protect BIOS EEPROM jumper.

What happens when you try to update the BIOS Mabyboi ?
