I have tested until now versions of BIOS: F1, F2, F3, F3o and F4a, all for my MOBO Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H. I used the following components: CPUs: Athlon X2 4000 + and Phenom II 720BE, Memory: 2 kit, A-Data Vitesta 2x2 GB 800 + 4.4.4.11 by SPD and A-Data 2x512 MB 800 5.5.5.18 By SPD, Video card: HIS HD4850 IceQ4, Asus X550 and onboard HD3300, HDDs: WD 640GB Sata II AAKS, 320GB WD ATA100 ATA and WD320GB, Power Supply: Xigmatek NRP-MC651 650W and Fortron Blue Storm II 500W.
With all versions of BIOSs I have problems in games (drop-frames per second-FPS at resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, 1024X768, 1280X1024 with all settings low) as Quake3, Quake Live COD, COD2, COD4, the only version that is OK and all games are good is F4a. With versions of BIOS F1, F2, F3 processor is identified as being unlocked Phenom II X4 20 and with F4a and F3o is identified as the Phenom II 720 BE. To test I've used ATI drivers: 8.9, 8.10, 8.11, 8.12, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3. Mention that AMD Cool'n'Quiet do not work with any version of BIOS and AMD Overdrive functioned just installed a DVD from a motherboard AsRock A780GXE/128M, who is on DVD from Gigabyte GA MA790GP-DS4H and last version from AMD site have not functioned.

Have you updated the Southbridge driver? In some point had problems in Fear Perseus Mandate... after installing Catalyst drivers again, the problem solved.

AMD Overdrive 2.1.5 doesn't work. Use 2.1.4, 2.1.6 or the new 3.0.1

Remember to install CPU driver and set your Windows power saving to minimum.
