The incompatibility issue between the Canterwood chipset and some BH5 chipset based memory is unavoidable. However the latest BIOS for the IC7 series motherboards have improved the overclocking ability when it comes to using the 5/4 or the 3/2 dividers.

Pryo, what's the speed of your processor and the brand of your memory? I would suggest you to test the CPU in another board to make sure it's not the factor that's holding you back.

Hey Abit, I'm having sorta the same problem too. And will you clarify the current status regarding the Vdimm problem. Because I'd really want to run my system in 1:1 if I can, if not, I might have to go to 5:4.

However, with the 1.2 BIOS, i can't boot with 5:4 timings, has the 1.3 BIOS fix this problem?

Thx

just got myself a max3 after ripped my p4c800 deluxe. having divider problem as well, using 5:4 i can go up to 280fsb stable only, however at 1:1 i can run 240fsb 2-2-2-5 at 3.1v vdimm. tried bios version 1.2/1.3/bigtoe modded 1.3, doesnt help anything :( Abit Marketing, any idea that a bios will be issue to fix the divider problem?

With 1.3 bios with 5/4 my max stable fsb is 285 and with 3/2 divider 305 stable.
I was able to run some bench at 317 but not all of them

shidokanjohn, did u try changing the bootstrap to BY CPU? i fixed mine by changing it to BY CPU. before this i was using 800 bootstrap where i hit a wall at 280fsb using 5:4, after changing the bootstrap to BY CPU, i'm able to run 300fsb 5:4 flawlessly :) here's a glance of it,

Abit is there any place where I can buy the "working" version of the max3. Can you maybe provide me with your u.s. retailer (the main one who gets the never shiments) or something in that sense so i can pick one up with no vdimm problems
