They've released updated models to two of their most successful phones, the HTC Touch Diamond and the HTC Touch Pro.

These will have WinMo 6.1 and the same hardware as their predecessors. They will simply have a new shell with slightly upgraded design and future updates to WinMo 6.5 once its out. Im not too excited considering the fact that you wont really see any hardware acceleration.

You should understand that often, it is not the hardware that is limiting performance, but rather the software. Many of the problems of the predecessors have been solved such as UI lag, low battery life, etc. Also, the screen is bigger, which makes it much more attractive. Obviously, you have the typical HTC quality finish. The UI's interface has also been dramatically improved with more responsive touches and bigger icons to press. I'm looking forward to own a new Diamond 2 in the future

This new diamond is kinda ugly to me... My diamond is excellent now, I'm happy with rom I have but will upgrade soon as possible ;)

I like the rugged look. I really like how both the Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 look. If i could upgrade for free id gladly do it. I'd like the bigget screen.

Wow

Afaik, i had the 7200 in my XV6800 which wasnt as good of a spec as the pro's 7201A

Im sorry but that had to be the most retarded decision ever. The 7200A is 90nm while the 7201A is 65nm thats like a no brainer. Not to mention they are trying to make these SLIMMER than the previous ones but are putting HOTTER chips in them. WHYYYYYYYYYYYY. This just doesnt make sense to me.

Theyre trying to get rid off their stock of 90 nm chips so are being cheapskates and downgrading the CPU?

*SHE was meant to RID, silly T9 spellchecker*.

The touch pro 2 is really really nice, but only 3.2 MP camera and I cant find if it has VGA video recording.

I think I can settle with 3.2 MP and VGA 30 FPS, but I really want 5 MP :(.

I like the improved front interface but the keyboard and shell would look so much better in black.

Having a Touch HD, I go mad from slow downs due to this :banana::banana::banana: Qualcomm rubbish.

My next phone will run Android and be powered by Tegra.

Anyone know if the Diamond 2 will be 3G in the US? Can't find that information anywhere!
I was originally going to get the Touch HD but it turns out it can't do 3G in the US...

I know the Touch Pro 2 will be available everywhere but I can't remember a similar news item on engadget about the Diamond 2. Should be though.

Hopefully the prices on the TP will drop, but I doubt it :(
