what fans do you prefer extreme quiet or extreme loud... or inbetween?

martin tested two quad rads already the gtx480 wins with loud fans...with the quiet fans the fesser wins...there are other quad rads but i don't remember them being tested

his tests are in the stickies

It would also help to know what is in your loop.

Hi I only have my CPU on my loop lol.

I was thinking bigger rad better temps ? + I can take the 2 fan Rad i have inside my case at the minute and mount the quad on the back of my case which would make it easier to clean when needed etc. I would guess in the future i might a GPU on to the loop as well.

Fan noise doesnt bother me as I game loud

Well if you are ok with loud fans than a Black Ice GTX rad is the way to go. Add some 5500rpm Deltas and you can put as much load as you want on that thing.

For cpu only I don't think you will see too much of a drop right now with a 120.2 vs 120.4. You probably will when you add a gpu though.

get the feser with some low speed fans

even with high fans (2000 rpm) the gtx only wins by a small margin while the feser has a huge advantage with low speed fans

And I would prefer the Magicool Xtreme 480 - it is a lot cheaper than Feser & BlackIce and the difference in cooling performance inside your CPU-only-loop will not be noticeable at all ;)

The absolute best quad rad is the Black Ice 560GTX. It takes 140mm fans instead of 120mm fans. Use it along with these fans here Koolance 140mm x25mm fan (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=316&products_id=24003&zenid=dc7c554faec9ab459aa59dbbd3e53ac4) and you will be doing just fine!

+1

If you don't need super quiet fans but don't want to get turbines with 2500+ RPM then the Magicool is a great choice for the price.

As you're using a CPU only loop though I would probably get the best possible cooler instead (looks like that's the Watercool HeatKiller 3.0 right now), you'll likely end up spending less money and maybe even getting more performance, but that depends on what block and rad you have.
f you have something like a Swiftech MCR220 and an Apogee GTX or D-Tek Fuzion V1 then the Heatkiller may bring you more performance than a quad radiator would. Water temp is not your weak point in a CPU only loop, with 1500-2000 RPM you water temp will be like 5-7C over ambient air, even with a huge radiator it's very hard to push the water temp close to ambient. A great cutting-edge block can get you 4-5C though easily compared to an older waterblock.
