The family needs a car. It needs to have 4 seats, but still be sporty, at least 200 horsepower. Right now were looking at the Subaru WRX, Mazda RX8 and an Infiniti. Theyre all in pretty much the same price range. Anyone have suggestions?

i saw a minivan the other day that was riced out with spoilers and hood scoops. it probably had some ricer engine in it to to give it some nice horsepower. when i saw it i laughed.

anyway, my friend has a mazdaspeed protege that was $20,000 brand new. not sure about the horsepower, but it comes standard with a turbo, spoilers, and low profile chrome tires. when i drove it, it was pretty fast and fun to drive, just not my style of car though. i like the muscle cars.

of your choices, the wrx is a pretty decent car, but you cant go wrong with an infiniti or even the rx8. whats your price range and a prefered style of car you like?

My dad wants something sporty and i need something that can hold people/stuff. The mazda rx8 is right up our alley, and i guess were willing to spend in the mid 30,000's. Yes, pimped out vans make me laught too. Like the 90,000 porsche suv.

My bro just got one of the proteges but the turbo one was like mid 20,000's.

I just picked a new Mercury Maruader. It's big, it's black, it's bad, and it's very fast for it's size.

Can hold a family of 5 comfortably (5 adults no problem)
Huge trunk.
Has some classiness to it.
310hp DOHC Mustang Cobra motor.
True Dual Exhaust.
Heavy Duty C4 tranny.
Sport tune suspension with air ride rear shocks.
3.55 rear gears.
And all the creature comforts you'd expect from a luxury car.

Price...about $29,000 after rebates.

I've run it at 14.7 at 99 MPH in the quarter mile. That's damn fast for a 4200 lb lead sled.

It's not for everyone, but it's a hell of a sports car for a family man like myself. I get compliments all the time on it. These will be a limited run edition to end in 2004.

its a bit.... cadillacy for me.... Looking for a little more sporty. I think that the Subaru is actually overdone though, like the asians who soup up their civics.

LOL...yeah I understand. Like i said it's not for everyone. It's definitely a luxo-sport deal...but it can lay twin strips of rubber for 30 feet. There's nothing like the HP and torque of a high output V-8 in a rear wheel drive platform. Make no mistake, this ain't yo daddy's caddy:D

That's pretty classy mdzcpa

When I look at it... it makes me think of something the CIA would ride in... black, big, and fast! :toast:

mdzcpa, nice car you got there. Get a set of 17 or 18" alloy wheels and low profile tires.. p-zero piralli. You'll get some very responsive ride. Tint all your windows too.
