what do you suggest to cut grooves for the water to flow in the copper? i was going to make a 9800 ram water block with sub zero water.

The easiest way:
Get some copper ( If your system is~13mm ID, Then 20mm is thick enough).
Cut the copper to pieces that are aproximately same size as a ram chip.
Drill a ~13mm hole through every piece and solder on some fittings.
Then connect the bolcks with some silicone or other flexible tubing and there you have your ghetto block;)
