ok, so im almost at the end of my build....and i was messing about with my controller without thinking, and im pretty sure ive blown the controller.....

im using a KamaMeter and here is what im running:

Channel 1: 3 120mm fans
Channel 2: 3 120mm fans
Channel 3: 2x 120mm's
Channel 4: 2x 80mm fans and 2x 120mm fans

i was turning every channel to full to see how loud it would be....if i ever wanted it like that i got to channel 3 and it was fine, when i turned up channel 4 the screen went black, i left it for a while unplugged then took out all channels and plugged in just the controller.....

im pretty sure its blown, doesnt bother me that much cuase its old and i was looking for a new one, just a shame cause i had it sprayed last week

oh well....how many fans have you guys got in each channel and which contoller???

I have a Sunbeam Rheobus rated at 20W per channel, max I have on one channel is 2 120mm Yate Loons. At ~4W a piece, that's only 8W. When you get a new controller, check the wattage ratings for each channel and try to stay a couple of watts under them for "breathing" room.

I'm using a sunbeam rhebus (rated at 20w per channel) with:
3x D12SM12 on c1 (Loads ~10,8w)
2x D12SM12 on c2 (Loads ~7,2w)
1x Adda 30x30 c3 Load is insignificant
1x Titan 80x80 c4 Load is insignificant

Have been using this controller since early 2007 and I'ts great, it really is. No problems what so ever.

rheobus extreme and mcubed t-balancer bigNG

bigNG is automatic controlling but rheobus is manuel controlling

those are the best two controllers i would go for

a 120mm fan on a bigNG and you can load each channel with 20 watts

my future build will have

4 medium yates=channel 1
3 medium yates=channel 2
2 medium yates= channel 3
4 fans 2 of which are 60mm and 2 which are medium yates= channel 4

mm the sunbeams dont look bad, but i was looking at a controller with a screen, to read out the temps and fan speeds etc....ill keep that one in mind though, thanks.

Rheobus Extreme with LiLi facia from PerfPCs, from memory. Best and best looking fan controller I've used for some time.

Wow you have way too many fan's hooked up to that KamaMeter. KamaMeter is not a power house of a fan controller and it will die on you if you hook up to many to one channel. I have one myself sitting in a box and the threshold on it is not very high. I liked it for the fact that it can easily match a build because of all the LCD colors it can use.

can you give me exact total fan ampere on each channel you use. Coz AFAIK this fan controler only can use max 1A on each channle.

i have a rheobus extreme

ch1: 4 kaze3000 push 480gtx
ch2: 4 kaze3000 pull 480gtx
ch3: 3 koolance hbk 12038 torture rack side and ram
ch4: 3 panaflos ultrahighspeed on the mcr320
ch5: 2 koolance 12025hbk on the backside of the motherboard + 2fans on the controller itself
ch6: 2 panaflo ultrahighspeed on the videocards

if you want a good duty controller...this might do...voltage isn't hight..which isn't really a problem ..at least you have noise suppression built in...:ROTF:

Jeez I thought I was nuts on fans! The fan controller handles ALL that?!? Damn may get one of those for myself then.

you can get those alphacool displays that hook up to a bigNG

otherwise have you tried the nzxt sentry even though its weak its good for a display

also try the aquareo fan controller it may lack the watts per channel but it does have a display!

I have one of those Alphacool displays and they are awesome. I love it and it is programmable too and will display everything you need very easily. The interface program is damn easy to use as well. I would suggest the double bay one though. They have a single bay display but I find it rather small.

+1 on the double bay

i like them too but i am not going to get it because they are costly 130 bucks

can you moniter core temperates and ram temps gpu temps on that?

Yup, yup and yup! Anything your mobo can dish out it can monitor. The better the mobo the better it will monitor. If you hook up a thermal sensor for your watercooling to your mobo you can monitor it on the screen along with anything else. I love this thing and you can personalize the screen too. Say if you named your build you can add that in etc. It is really worth the cost. My ol lady was nice to get me this and the LG Super Multi Blue for Xmas.

Fan-atic 12-7-0 FTW.
I honestly have no clue why they made the 12-5-0.

Let us know how you like it, if you get the FC-2. I wasn't happy with mine, because it made a whining sound whenever the fans were less than full force. Sent an email to the company, but no repsponse in over 2 weeks.

I noticed that controller the other day. Nice lookin', and good power. It's cool that you can choose from various LED colour schemes too.

Seems like a waste of $$ when it's the same thing as a $13 Sunbeam, same color too.

I just got a zalman mfc1 plus, it is apparently 7w each channel, thats about two fans in a channel yeh?

Depends, just multiply the amperage that the fan is rated for, you can find that online or on the fan itself typically by 12 and it will give you the wattage :)

so this sunbeam controler, would it be able to handle 3 of these in each channel:

man, I wish fan mfctrs would list the amperage! As long as that fan is at or under .56 amps (6.67 watts), 3 of 'em together would still be within the sunbeams 20w/ channel spec, but.... man, I wish fan mfctrs would list the amperage!

I was always under the impression that you're not supposed to connect more than one fan per channel.
Great way to blow your power supply should something go wrong(been there done that).

what happened? I've never heard of problems with daisy-chaining multiple fans before, as long as the total power draw is within spec.

why i do it:
1. xtremesystems
2. no waterblock for the rheobus extreme
3. i'm still thinking of putting a waterblock on the 285..i'll be getting the 295
4. no way of putting a waterblock on the backside of the motherboard

cpu + nb + physx card ...are all watercooled:yepp:

Well sure but many of those controllers have low quality specs and probably aren't meant to daisy chain fans.
I had a sunbeam controller that took out my Hiper Type-R 580W when it went. Black powder galore.

This embodies my philosophy....sure its kinda noisy but there is no such thing as overkill! If it is physically possible to make something cooler then I will do it.:up:

Exactly. The amount of fans I have has gone up since I started getting into WCing. I remember when I thought having 6 80mm fans was kinda crazy. I must need a padded room for having 14 fans.
