Thanks to O&O defragment, I am royally §§§§ed.

I can't seem to make a boot disk that will do me any good.
All the pages I can find online are either for 2k/NT and won't work with XP, or tell me to do something that doesn't work (like using sys C: to fix it. Gives an 'invalid MS-DOS version' error.)

Someone please help...

Log into repair console(no password), from setup and run the 'fixboot' command.

I don't have a 95/98 boot disk, it won't boot from the CD, the sys C: technique, like I said, doesn't work (it gives an 'invalid MS-DOS version' error), and when I copy ntldr to a boot disk it doesn't show up in dir/p, nor will let me copy it.

How odd..

It suddenly just booted fine. I didn't touch it! C.c

O&O is pretty good, got it running on over 30.000+ PC's @ work. not one BSOD because of O&O.

I have tried O&O and I prefer Diskeeper.

O&O has proven to be faster in defragmenting the same hard drive, extensive tests have been done @ work between diskeeper, o&o, windows standard defrag and some other 3rd party defragmenters :)

Sounds like you have a disk problem, might be worth swapping IDE cables

What version? I use Diskeeper 7 and it beats the hell out of the O&O that I tested.

Ditto, you just gotta love Diskeeper, I actually ran a defrag the other day using the standard Windows defrag, needless to say I won't be doing that again. :D

Hm didn't know there was a DK8, although I know my DK7 was from 2001 so I expected there to be a newer one out. I'll have to try it.

DK8 is the best yet! Check it out for sure. ;)

Strange coincidence....my work computer did the same thing. After 5 or 6 reboots, it worked! Strange.
