I have a Gigabyte 790FX DQ-6 witch might be fine. But its a year old and new stuff comes out all the time to kick the old stuffs A$$. So what to do. I can still sell it for alot of money. So I'm thinking of replacing it with a AM3 mobo or anything with a better NB/SB that has been known to give the best OC's.

Please help me out here to decide what I should get. :D

There isn't anything with a new NB/SB yet.

I doubt there's much difference.

I would stick with the mobo now, buy just the cpu and then upgrade mobo and ram in fall when DDR3 is cheaper and the new AM3 mobos have been released

I am doing a S.L.O.W. review on the GA-MA790FXT-UD5P over here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=218919). Can't say I would jump all over it, but the ram and CPU and MB had $30(USD) off when purchased the other day and still going on at NewEgg. Ram wasn't to horrible for 2x1GB 1800mhz DDR3 as it was. I might grab the Asus AM3 board soon and see if it is any better. I can say this, My 720BE is right up there with my 940BE in 3dmark06 at same settings:up: I run the RAM @ 1600mhz 8.8.8 23 1T. If you can wait, I might say just do that and see what is to come. These chips seem to clock about the same regaurdless of MB.
