i've not used one but plan to shortly (mine will be green tho). i dont know whether or not the resistor is needed, i think it depends what you plan to get the power from. if you plug it into the board you may not but if you wire it to a molex you will.

Well i had mine pre-wired from performancepc and looking at them there is no number or coloring on them to show me what is what. Dam I am glad I paid another $20.00 to let them deal with it. Here is my quick pix of them hope it helps.

Bulgin vandals vary from model to model, so you must find the right specs for your part#, especially for the voltages required.

Typically, if you look carefully, you will see a small + and - embossed in the plastic (you can actually see the "-" in Lu(ky's pic). These are for the LED + and -. By default, the other two will be the terminals for your momentary switch.

Love Performance-Pcs, and you can see they stick to convention. Red = + and black = ground -. Yellow are the switching terminals.

you don't need to add resistors fro bulgins, they're good to go from the beginning.

Just do as Navig says and you'll be fine. Be noted though, you can't change the color of the LED, so make sure you buy the color that you want from the beginning. I actually prefer the jack terminals myself, think they look cleaner than the screw kind. . .

if your taking power from the mobo leads ment for the power LEDs then you do not need a resistor. if your taking power from the 12v line off your PSU you will need a resistor. anything above 3v you will need a resistor.

12v @ 3v @ 20ma = 470 ohms 1/2w resistor
7v @ 3v @ 20ma = 220 ohms 1/4w resistor
5v @ 3v @ 20ma = 100 ohms 1/8w resistor
