Hey does anybody have any suggestions for a NB water block for the ASUS M3A78-T. I had to change motherboards as I have had 2 Biostar 790GX A2+ boards die on me. One before I even completed my WC install before it was even used and this week my board just died and the video output from my Dual 4870X2 went down and the board stopped showing video. Both of my 4870x2s are fine.

So I had to buy the Asus as Microcenter was out. I have 2 MCW30s but it won't fit on this board because the screw holes are spaced farther apart than the Biostar board. Any ideas?

Could just make your own mounting bracket.
Also I think someone on the forum was making some bracket to suit other motherboards maybe he can help you out.

I was actually thinking about that. I may be able to use the metal blank inserts from my case front. I just wanted to see if there was another way.

wont an mcw30 work by cutting the NB sink fins then use that affter lapping to mount the block to with thermal adhesive

But what if I have to take the board back lol. It sounds awesome in theory but its not practical when Mobo warranties or return policies are concerned.

The simplest solution I just tested is to turn the MCW30 so that the edges of the brackets bump against the hard mount posts and then tighten the plastic thumbscrews down equally. It looks stable to me as long as I don't yank on the tubing or anything it should be fine till I can change the brackets. I'll still be looking for a better solution though. I wonder if the person making brackets is lurking around anywhere.
