I am using MightyMike's ROM - v4.9.5. He has now created 2 ROMS - one of which is full featured and the other one which is a Lite version.

Sure, a ROM is simply a modified version or stock version of the CE Operating system that most windows mobile phones run off of. What people do, is that they tweak them to either fix issues, or to add programs or to change the way it looks in order to satisfy your desires. Most Custom ROMs are faster and look better and have more features and programs pre-installed and also remove some of the junk that you may not want or need like the stock carrier's software if you dont want that. Some keep it, others dont. And thats why there are so many different ROMs. ;)

I had the Touch Pro for about 2 weeks after which I sold it. I hated the phone and it was very buggy. I then got the Sony Xperia X1 which I use now along with the iphone 3g...the cool thing is, that you can download the HTC Touch Flow 3d interface and run it as one of the panels on the X1...the funny thing is, I got more usage out of the HTC interface on my X1 then on HTC's Touch Pro..lol.

My one suggestion to any HTC users would be to use the custom ROMs out there rather than the official ones...they are much much better and more stable IMO. XDA is a good resource.

Got myself the Fuze last week and am already running EnergyRom 1.5, along with the 1.11.25.01 radio stack and the correlating DLL file. Very quick and VERY fun to tinker with after updating to these. GPS locks in a matter of 10-15 seconds from a cold boot and I can get better signal now where I live, no to mention that I'm no longer hopping between Edge and GSM.

This is my kind of toy, man. I can't put the thing down.

I've only tried a few ROM's - Juggalo's and a few versions of MightyRom. I'm open to something new, I mainly want the thing to run faster than stock. The bells and whistles don't mean much to me. How fast is Juicy's? How fast is wmBlack and why do you like it?

Marvin_The_Martian

wmBlack is more for older models, touch pro isn't listed on the compatibility tab just checked I thought it was but nope. I posted the small print because I have a really old model phone, tytn, and if you want to know why I like I got four words, standard htc sucks donkey balls. Today screen is not usable, taskman is not existing, comm manager is missed dearly, I watch small clips/movies on my phone when I'm in the train so I needed a good media player, I wanted the htc equalizer which isn't in the stock rom and the list goes on and on.

Edit: forgot the remote desktop and voip addons, those I installed recently and I'm very happy with especially the last. Skype was pretty bad before, now it's perfectly usable.

Yeah scrosler's roms are great. I was so thankful i donated 5 bucks. :D

Nonetheless, im currently using SSK's 1.5 lite which is like.. the least burdened ROM with just the bare essentials not too much junk. Personally, i prefer to install apps myself if i want them. This rom keeps most of the stock programs and adds a few nifty ones i never knew existed but am grateful for. Overall, it improved battery life and it seems to run better than the Stock Verizon rom. :)

There are ALOT of good Roms out there for ALOT of different devices. What i would strongly suggest you do is go over to a site like PPCGeeks or XDA Developers and see which ROM you prefer. Because basically, most of the ROMs have different styles and different preloaded programs. Some more than others. The real key when looking for a ROM is finding one that suits your needs and i personally prefer the lighter roms with less preloaded stuff but even less of the OEM Verizon junk ive got.

Here are some helpful links to those sites.

For battery life, be sure to upgrade your rom and perform all backlight screen tweaks. Also update your radio to the newest sprint radio or telus radio (it helps boost signal strength, internet speeds, and battery life!) Im using Sprints newest at the moment but have heard great things about telus. And yes your services works as normal even with a different radio.

Yeah, im using the latest SSK 2.6 Rom. The thing about these SSK roms is that they're designed for Verizon and Sprint users with Verizon users more in mind because of the fact that verizon users have less Ram in their systems and that requires a different type of ROM.
