The time has come to replace my old K800i, screen is scratched to hell, analog stick is barely working and plastic on buttons is all but warn away...
Considering the N96 and C905, which is the better phone for gaming and web browsing out of the two? which would you get and why?
Any other suggestions welcome.

N96, only because it can play N-gage games, instead of only java games.
I just bought a LG Renoir, 8mpixel camera, 3inch touchscreen, but the Renoir is not a good choice for games.

So basically the N96 is the better gaming phone, I gather it plays both java and n-gage games.
How are they for media and bew browsing, or are they about equal in these regards?

I'm not sure about the 905 but don't get the 96 if you want a gaming phone. Get a DS, or a PSP :)
I've yet to see a phone i can properly play games with and the n96 is no different. The web browsing is great, however as with any HSDPA it depends on your provider and area coverage. If i was buying a phone right now i'd probably wait for that new nokia touch screen.

I've read a few reviews and I've used N96. It is slow. Phone is slow... If you are looking for that type, you can get N85 or something like that. C905 has small screen.
I've played around with an N96, it feels cheap compared to my N95 8GB but it maybe because of the fact that it is lighter. Also, like LaMpiR said it is slow. If your service can provide 3.5G the N96 can reach that.
If you want it now I would go for the N85. I haven't gotten my hands on one yet but will get some at work soon. It looks to be a solid phone for your needs. I'm personally waiting for the N97 before I replace my trusty N95 8GB.

I would also wait a little bit for for some of the new smart phones. The Nokia N97 looks awesome, and once the Nvidia tegra comes out, there should be a bunch of choices available.

The Sony Ericsson c905 is a little smaller than the Nokia N96 and feels nicer in
the hand. Let me know what phone you think, remember data plans are super

C905 is more of a camera with a phone, rather than a phone with a camera (just like your old K800 and my K810).
It has the best pictures and photography software in all cellphones available.
If you don't want to spend money on a medium-range digital camera, C905 is the way to go.
For gaming, extended application choice and video recording, the N96 is a better choice, though.
I for one wish Sony had done something about video recording on the C905 (and the K850 for that matter).. 320*240 of max vide resolution is a joke for a high-end multimedia phone.
