Works for win XP, not tried on another OS.

Open regedit, and go to the following key :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ SecondLevelDataCache

Add a decimal value equal to the size of the L2 cache of your cpu (ie 512 for northwood, 256 for williamette, or whatever your L2 cache is). Works for every cpu manufacturer.

May get you a few points, may not - it got me another 80 :).

I believe that the value you need to add is called "SecondLevelDataCache", under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory Management \ as PiLsY reports. At least, this is the value that forces the L2 cache size instead of letting windows discover it.

When you do that tweak, it gives you the choice of checking decimal or hexidecimal via the little box.

tweaktown has that and a whole bunch of other great stuff in their XP tweak guides.

...and Gamer - nice link - thanks much.

Maybe now I can get tham damned 180pts I need for 13k. It's not THAt high, but it's a goal I set for myself.
