I understand that there are 2 versions of this heatsink. How am I suppose to figure out which one is the newer version? Thx

same age,
one is half Al/Cu the other is full Cu........
Mtg hardware for A64/P4 478 in pkg...

make sure you get the A verison if you wanna mount it on a socket A system. this also includes mounting for A64 and 478.
the non A doesnt come with mounting hardware for socket A.
