Hmm... Well today my computer was doing well, im up to 3.2ghz on my 2.4c (its a pretty bad chip, needs a lot of voltage) but anyway, when i restarted my computer today like for some reason now IE crashses instantly when it opens and it asks if i want to send an error report. I do both but it doesnt help. W.enever i open norton systemworks it just closes again. I can run Super Pi and i just got 42 seconds. Right now im on mozilla which i hate and i need to fix ie. this browser is such a piece. What is microsoft doing to my computer? Ps. AIM gets "errors and needs to be shut down" too fairly often.

This happens at no matter what speed im at, what vcore, what mem timings, what anything, as far as i can tell. Ive tried everything but running norton in safe mod to check for viruses.

Oh yeah, and sometimes whenever i turn on the computer it will just keep giving error messages like "your computer has just experienced a massive failure, click okay to send error report" and they just keep coming back.

This isnt really the place for "technical related questions" but anyways.....perhaps you ahve hard-drive corruption? Some data has been damaged however have you downclocked back to a speed at which it was fine before? If so and its still not OK you could well have corrupted data.

No (media: mp3, movies etc. )files on the hardrive seem to have any problems and those take up the bulk of the 80 gigs. Its defnitely at a speed its been fine at before.

Maybe you didn't really have a problem after all? False alarm you could say?

Just out of meaness I sent one of those reports to MS, they spamed me for a month and accually called my house. Yup, no typo, a tech called me and KMA, I almost had heart failure. Poor guy didn't know his @ss from a hole in the ground, but he called to kiss mine anyway (guess thats a perk for owning COA's for all your PC's). I told him how to fix the problem so maybe he can help someone else.

Corrupt log file, and their own techs don't have a clue.....what a waste.

its back, at 3ghz but now only IE does it. Have a link to the solution?

(edit)Now if i open halo it will just minimize no matter what unless all programs are closed, but its okay if i alt tab out of it then open programs.

have you tried running memtest or prime95? could be anything hard drive corruption, cpu instability, memory instability, bad memory.

Yeah i dunno why but then it came back. Ive reinstalled IE a dozen and times and now that works but other programs still occassionally give problems.
