Didn't see this posted, not sure if its news or not but damn'd if it seemed like rambus was trying to sue everybody over patents.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=abBlvOcKBjsU&refer=home

"Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Rambus Inc., a designer of high-speed memory chips, can’t use 12 of its patents to demand royalties from Micron Technology Inc., a federal judge in Delaware ruled. Rambus dropped as much as 28 percent. "

Maybe they need to rehire a new spread of laywers to win more cases for them since thats mainly the way they make money?

all they do is sue, instead of investing money towards developing better (and cheaper) products :shakes:

Rambus DOES spend money to develop stuff. The issue is that they claim a lot of other companies are using what they developed at one point, without any licensing. Without the ability to take this sort of issue to court, NO COMPANY could justify the cost of doing heavy R&D in the first place. Whether this particular case has merit is a whole different issue, which is why so much time is being spent in court. Patent trolls or not, there are a lot of big companies who think it's easier and cheaper to ask for forgiveness than permission when it comes to other companies' IP.

Anyway, for everyone too lazy to actually read this article, but not so lazy to refrain from the usual canned gripes about patent trolls:

U.S. District Judge Sue L. Robinson in Wilmington said today the patents are unenforceable because Rambus destroyed documents in the infringement lawsuit. She called Rambus’s litigation conduct “obstructive at best, misleading at worst.”
This is the actual point of the article. Note to RAMBUS: If you want to enforce your patents, it helps to keep your own paperwork clean and handy.

RAMBUS is nothing but a company that lives on lawsuits. They are almost as bad as RIAA.

:shakes: Just go away RAMBUS. You're not needed anymore, and people are sick of you wasting the Courts time, and our taxpayer money with your frivolous lawsuits.
