Anyone know the proper mounting for the gtz for 1366, on the EXTREME I have it mounted 180 degrees turned so its upside down when the board is standing, it shows 2 different ways in the instructions so i wasnt sure.

I just mount it so the lettering on the block is right side up. The important thing is to make sure you have the tubing inlet/outlet correct.

so that would mean inlet on the bottom left side of the chip, is this a good location cores wise? Or does it not really matter

Well either way, the pins are centered on the block so the water flows over them one way or another. I'm not sure if having the flat/pinless inlet portion of the block over a core would really help all that much.

It's an interesting point, but not one that has brought up too much concern so far. If there's a difference it's probably negligible. Probably.

Somebody prove me wrong.

i called gabe directly by phone and asked about mounting on the 1366 i7-920 chip and he said to make sure the logo is perpendicular to the lockdown lever, which in my case makes it so the logo is displayed vertically vs horizontally.

I have mine upside down so that it is easier to route the tubing.

Trust him, he knows what he's doing, and he's getting very good temps. He folds 24/7 and that rig can get 9000 PPD easy with 10,000 peaks. It's very stable, and very powerful. He has it setup very well.
