multipliers are handled by the CPU and not an issue with the motherboard. list your specs and we could help you out.

Not advisable to do a bios update unless 100% needed.

You have a 8400 meaning highest multiplier is 9x

Easy Bios update- Go to Quantum force Blackops web page log in, go to downloads section, then Utilities, download and install FOX Live update, open program and let it search for latest updates. Loads more detailed info in the Guides, Tweaks & FAQ's, section @the top of the opening Forum page. Have fun Dude Blackops is the best board I have owned & I have tried 3 different cpu's on it so far Hours of fun. Make sure you enable Overclock recovery.

I wouldn't go that far I can't get a microphone to work to save my life. It says HD audio but none of that works. so I used the realtek 97 and only the speakers work. Any suggestions for that? If I can't game then the mobo is worthless. Newegg desn't even accpect returns on them.

Im talking about from an overclocking point of veiw M8. As far as microphones are concerned I just plugged my sonar sound card into the board installed realtek audio driver then plugged speaker cable and microphone cable into sound card jack plug sockets on the back of PC, then adjust volume etc in control panel / Hardware & sound. jobs a good n.

your issue with the microphone sounds like a windows setting

if it is XP, right click on the speaker icon in the system tray,
click on open volume control
click on options
properties
click on the recording button
click ok
by default i have found that most of the time, LINE IN is selected, and you need to select Microphone. then you can adjust the mic boost and mic volume

and why would you have to do a bios update to put in a new video card?

Looks like the cards aren't supported by the mobo unless the bios is updated.

you can do it within windows with fox live update .. it should of been on your board driver disc or it can be downloaded from foxconn qf home page along with all other bio's & downloads for the board

or you can use a pen drive or a floppy or a cd

Or, you could use sayaa's excellent bios update guide that is in the FAQ section as others have suggested. You don't need to update bios for 1 4870x2. Just for 2 of those in crossfirex. 750w psu will probably not run 2 4870x2. I have seen the wattmeter go way past 750 on certain games with my set up. Good luck!
