Ive seen a few pc's where the tubes look awesome and glow (is it just the camera)

Like here:http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=182793&page=3

The compononts I got are:
Coolant:1L Feser One Fluid - UV Acid Green
Tube:TFC Green UV Reactive Tube 3/8" ID
Cathode tube: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/51686

Any help? :)

some cold cathodes are specifically UV while others give off some ultra violet glow, the other colors do not provide the same effects with UV reactive tubing and dyes

Do you know which of them that are the good ones?

AC Ryan or Logisys or Sunbeam?

Maybe these AC Ryan ones are good? - PPC's say that they are the brightest that they ever had in house? - take a look :

But don't make the buy yet! let someone with more knowledge than me about UV CCFL lighting chime in here first!

You have blue cold cathodes. To make the tubes glow you need UV cold cathodes. That's your main issue.

I'm using logisys UV cathodes, they work well and are cheap. They have been turned off for a couple months since I gave up on dye though, going to be getting UV tubing at some point but I just haven't done it yet.

Ah yeh realised that the cathodes are not UV, how silly of me. Great help once again guys!!!!

Getting these ones I guess: http://www.overclock.co.uk/product/AC-Ryan-10cm-Blue-Twin-Cathode-CCFL-Kit_7964.html

Gurby, I think the ones you just posted are still just the blue and not UV.

I believe you want these:

Better hurry - only 2 left! :)

If you read the on the page it says: AC Ryan's Overboost technology delivers more power for a stronger UV lighting effect so your UVactive™ stuff gets more UV and glows brighter.?

And what colour cathode is that, not sure if its meant to be purple, or mix between purple and blue? XD

The colour of those cathodes is the colour of UV. The cathodes you posted are just plain blue, you are looking for the UV cathodes.

Indeed.

In my experience, good UV reactivity is more a result of hitting that "sweet spot" point of the spectrum and not necessarily higher lumens. While the AC Ryan blue may deliver a slightly wider range than the generic blue CCFL products out there, I'd think that the "UV" model will give you more UV pop for your buck. :)

If you leave the aperture open for a half second (Or more) you will get a picture of REALLY bright glowing tubes (Guilty).

I have used all three and there is very little difference. However I do own 2 sets of AC Ryans overboast and they are brighter then anything else I have tried. Not a lot brighter, but more intense.

That is just a marketing blurb to try and get you to buy them. While blue is close to violet and ultra-violet on the electromagnetic spectrum, it is not true UV and will not give as good an effect in making UV reactive materials flouresce and glow. The UV cold cathodes the others have been linking are indead what you actually want.

UV colored cathodes are for the most part UV colored which is invisible to the human eye. The cathodes also give off some violet light as well as UV light and results in the visible purple look.

UV lighting is IMO superior to all other lighting methods because you can really highlight features you like, except for white LEDs in some cases which look great

Those are blue. Look at what they are called, blue. The UV ones will be called UV. charles_h linked to the ones you really want.
