I'll try to make it brief. I'm a newbie and have just had my Blackops mobo for just over a month.
I just upgraded my CPU to an Intel Q9550 2.83GHz
The problem was the mobo kept showing it as 2267MHz. I had the latest P05 firmware. I wrote to Foxconn support reporting this issue and some clown there instructed me to DOWNGRADE to 7A3F1G32. BIOS downgrade went fine but didn't solve the wrong frequency. The downgrade totally stuffed my system. The bigger issue now is:
1. it won't even see the RAID array
2. it does not even present the option to create a RAID array
In the BIOS, it is set to:
SATA Mode = RAID
Onboard IDE/SATA Chip = RAID+IDE Mode
Now at the completion of the POST boot the following messages appear:
Warning! Have Option ROM can not be invoke (sic)
(Vendor ID:8 86h, device ID:2822h)
and then stops at this message:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
Any idea on how to solve the 2 problems i.e. fix the RAID and get the mobo to recognise and report the right CPU frequency?
Once fixed, can anyone please advise in as much detail as possible (since I'm a novice) what settings I should use to OC it (CPU & RAM) to a stable not too extreme say 25% - 30% over standard? Below is my hardware config.
1. Intel Q9550 2.83GHz
2. 8GB Corsair TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHXIN (Corsair DOMINATOR Airflow Fan mounted)
3. BFG 280 H20C
4. 2 x 300GB WD Velociraptors in RAID-0
5. Zalman LQ1000 watercooled case
Thanks in advance.
