I have an "old" eVGA 8800 GTX Ultra that I wish to water cool in my workstation rig. The only problem: no one seems to sell blocks for this thing anymore.

I was hoping to get a swiftech stealth (http://www.swiftech.com/products/stealth.asp), but can't seem to find any distributors.

Any help is appreciated - I'm in Canada, so Canuck or American options preferred.

Thanks,
LK

funny, there's two of those sitting on the shelf at my local micro center. in duluth, ga. you might convince someone to go buy it and mail it to you, but i cant... sorry :(

How about swiftech MCW 60?, afaik swiftech stealth contain aluminium that will be a problem. If you prefer full cover solution you can try EK, performance-pcs still have them, i'm sure they will ship to canada

Have a look in the buy & sell forums here there are always people selling these.

I can't see the for sale threads :(

I'm new to water cooling, and I've done some basic research... I understand the downside of aluminium, but the stealth is nickel and zinc plated -- won't this ensure I won't have corrosion issues, or is that simply "marketing"?

TIA for putting up with my newbness.

LK

I think the swiftech MCW-60 + ramsinks is your best option. I use that combo myself, although on an 8800GTS. Should you decide to upgrade your graphics card you can still use the MCW-60, you just need new ramsinks. http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcw60-R.asp <-- linky

Try this one: http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=222&HS=1

plus: http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=189

or: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=240&products_id=21306

I have the latter and it's nice. I'm running 648/ 1721/ 1053 (24/7) at 51c tops (5v fans with shared CPU loop in a super-quiet recording rig). When I'm running my low-speed Yates at 12v it tops at 46c

No sense buying a new 8800 top when there are tons out there used for sale though. Hold off & one will show up soon as everyone is dumping them for $50 or less.

I have a EK I used for my 8800 Ultra - if I can find it you can have it for cheap.

I have a swiftech full cover block for it, the stealth, its not the latest revision but i have all the little heatsinks for the rest of it too that came with the stealth block.

If you're interested, send me an email at alaindesjardins@hotmail.com . I run a small computer repair shop in northern maine, so hopefully that means a little something. I will open it up to make sure everything is intact if you're interested... i replaced my 8800GTX with two 9800GTXs SLIed, still running those. My 8800GTX since I couildnt get the original stock HSF on it, i bought a Zalman solution for it and its running in my second rig right now... those 8800GTXs are such beasts!

So, I have no use for it. I still have the original box for it and everyghing so shipping it shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks!

As has been mentioned, the Stealth has an alum top and is not really recommended, so use it at your own peril.

I'm liking that MCW60 option, it's cheap and can be reused when I move parts down from my gaming rig to my workstation (depending how this first crack at watercooling goes).

Thanks for the help, guys.
