I received my rad this afternoon and I bought 3 Yate loons fan yesterday for my MCR320 rad.
I really want to add 3 more 120mm LED on the top of my Cosmos S to pull some hot air out from the rad. The 3 yate would be pushing air out.

This what I have in mind.

Is this possible? Is this safe?

Why would you mount standoffs between the fans and the radiator? Mount the fans straight to the radiator and straight to the case, no gaps.

I was thinking about mount them straight, but I don't want to poke the rad
So, it is a bad idea then?

You want them mounted right up against the rad. If you install standoffs between the fan and the rad the air will want to flow to the path with the least resistance, which is not through the radiator, but through the gaps on the side.

Now you could install the standoffs but then you need to build some sort of shroud to cover up the gaps.

Just use shorter screws then or use some washers but not between the rad and the fans. That's what i did.

You can also duct b/t your your rad and fans over the stand off to create a shroud which will actually improve performance.

Check out this thread (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3463074) if you're having trouble finding the right length of screws.

I usually put a credit card or something of that sort in the back to prevent puncturing the rad. Then again, I also have screws that will fit fine. Did the MCR320 not come with those 1/4" screws to mount fans to it?

The rad uses #6 screws.. pick the right length.

That is what I am thinking too. Put a tape around the standoffs, but my problem is I don't want my rad to fall.

Wait, how would it fall?

Wait, how would it fall?

Because I am going to use my motherboard standoffs to hold my rad, and I am not sure if those standoffs will hold my rad.

Dont' use those stand off's on both sides.. you can get away with using them on one side, but on the other side you need to have the fans mounted DIRECTLY to the RAD

should I remove the bottom standoffs on the and mount the fans straight to the rad to push air?
The top standoffs, should I keep them?

Don't use any stand-offs at all imo, it's not like you need them.
