ok so i'm out of room in my case looking to see if i can mount a 4x80mm rad on the outside of my case and if that will be enough to cool an 8800GTS G92 (or dual GPU in the future) and my NB/mosfets. pump i will be using is the laing D4/swifty MCP650 ($30 on petras!)

this is the rad i'm looking at http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_336&products_id=22811

and the case will be something like this

You'll also have to get aluminium GPU and chipset blocks if you decide on that rad and I'm not sure if you can even get aluminium blocks for the 8800GTS. Can't you stick a proper rad outside with a radbox or mount on the roof of the case somehow?

The aluminum scares me.

If you are mounting on the outside of the panel, couldn't at least a dual of not triple 120mm rad like the MCR220 or MCR320 fit? Would perform better too, and be quieter, and have no corrosion risks associated with it.

avoid alu if you can

if you are pressed for room i highly recomend the HW Labs Micro Rads

you should be able to fit one of these http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=336&products_id=23325
Ive had one of these cooling 2 overclocked 8800 ultras with temps of high 30s to low 40s

that should have all the dimensions for the side as for the top it is 17"x8" so i could fit a 360mm rad up top

Bingo, the top is a good idea. And (as is suggested even in the link that you posted) the MCR320 would be the better choice over that BIPIII

ok now if i'm going that route what is the best way to run the tubing?

let the top of the rad hang over the back of the case and shoot the tubing down?

Like you said, you could hang the end of it off the back and drop the tubing down. Or, you could cut two holes in the top of the case and run tubing straight up that way, allowing the rad to not hang off. Whichever works best in your case (no pun intended)

unluckily there isn't enough room at the top of my case to mount the tubing straight down...unless i do some heavy mods hmmm. going to try this ordering the rad shortly
