I'm looking for the best bang for the buck heatsink/fan combo for an athlon XP 1900+... I am NOT overclocking and my main concern is noise.. I want it to be as quiet as possible while still doing a decent cooling job.. As long as the chip doesnt overheat at stock speeds I'm fine with that.

Thanks for any advice

Get yourself a Coolermaster XDream or something and put a Papst or other silent fan on it. I have a xdream with a noiseblocker fan, with potmeter @ lowest i cant even hear it.

@ 1.93v it doesnt even go over 45° stressed.

Lol best bang for buck?

Why not watercooling :D

I would say go for a Zalman 7000 alcu.

Or, if you're really low on money, go for a Spire whisperrock/falconrock/fridgerock dunno exacly ;)

welcome roper, and i'd have to agree the slk900 is pretty good... and watercooling can get the job done too ^^

If you want silence go with the Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu. Have atention because the older one do not fit. The diference in the name is only a A. The Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu fits, but the Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu does not fit. The performance is very good too.:) Maybe you will thing in overclocking:D
