View Full Version : will 80w pelt + chilled water be good for a Vmodded GF4?

i know, 156w would be better, but i just don't have the means to power it.
and i am not planning on getting a dedicated PSU etc.
this is what i'm thinking:
chilled liquid goes to the CPU block, then to the pelt-block (direct contact) on the GF4 Ti.
say, my water temps will be -10*C when entering the pelt-block;
with a 80w pelt (at 75% of Vmax, because its a 16v pelt and i am powering it with a 12v source), what will the core temp. be?
video cards dont generate much heat, so i am guessing they will drop another 10-20 degrees..no?

I'm using a 80W pelt @ 75% Vmax on my GF1 DDR: works like a charm.

Back of GPU get +- 60°C with regular H²O (hot little bugger!) and +- ambient temp (20°C) with the watercooled 80W pelt.

I should be able to get it much lower though: water temp is really high (35°C) and pelt is not clamped enough (i do use a coldplate but I can't manage to put enough presure on it).

I managed a 50% GPU OC with a 80W pelt, I look forward to your results! Have fun!

btw: Ritalin rules :D

thanks m8 :D
BTW, do you know where to find a potted 80-85w with a molex connector?
i dont really care that much, but since i will be powering it off of my main PSU, molex would be nice.

No idea where you can get those cheap. They're pretty hard to find in Belgium: I bought them from OPP. :)
