I'm considering getting a new graphics card, And want to make sure I wouldn't have to get a 2nd loop / run it on air, Since that would make a $250 card cost around $400 after cooling. Running it on air would suck, and ruin the whole silent thing ive got going. I think it should be fine, Just barely though. He's the setup:

Water:
-MCR320
-DDC 3.1
-YL D12SL's @ 7v

Hardware:
-Q6600 G0 @ 1.4v
-8800GT @ stock volts

would replacing the 8800GT with a GTX260/216 mess everything up? The G92 has a TDP of around 110w, I've read the 260 is around 170w. The MCR320 should be able to make do with a 320w load, yes?

right now it is around 62F in the room, Both CPU and GPU crunching and folding, And the GPU is at 41c, CPU cores are 40-40-42-41.

keep in mind taht the q6600 @ 1.4 has about 200w heat output

the 320 will handle this with OK temps, I think that you will see a difference but nothing that will put you over the top

I beg to differ. My whole system under a moderate load only pulls 360W from the wall, no way my CPU is taking 200W of that and i'm at 1.45V on mine.

The MCR320 will do fine. My Q6600 loads low 50's with my 4870 loading low 40's all in the same loop with an MCR320 and sflexes.

I stand corrected, and so does that POS PSU calculator lol

I need to get myself a kill-a-watt......

Yes, yes you do :yepp: I just got one and it is really nifty. I was actually quite surprised how little my PC pulls, I was expecting well over 400W minimum. Now just to find out how much my crunchers in my sig all pull  :p:

Just out of curiosity, what are you using to load your cpu and gpu when measuring at the wall? With a single 4870X2 I was spiking 600w draw at the wall.

Sorry for the thread hijack Kevin, your rad will work but you will probably have to run higher than 7v on your fans to keep similar temps to what you have now.

The new OCCT has a stressing feature, but otherwise your good ol' CPU stress test (Prime95, OCCT, linpack) combined with a 3D benchmark or ATI tool will do a good job.

You'll be fine with an MCR320, temps may rise a little but if you were the type that would get worried about another 3 degrees, you wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra $400 on cooling.

The MCR320 should be plenty, Kevin :)

Worst case scenario, your temperatures would go up a degree or two.
