Anyone?

beta 18 bios is not working :( Still getting 8.7. postcode with E8600.

I know there are some who managed to get it working, but it's probably a v2.0 board. Mine is v1.0.

Sadly, abit blow gigantic balls these days, have have done for a long time. A great cheap alternative would be a Asus P5Q, or P5Q Pro.

Its been confirmed by a lot of users that the E8600 does not work on the IP35 Pro, even with the latest beta BIOS. Truth be told, you have probably seen the last of BIOS updates for that board, if not all together for all abit boards.

I have an E7300 working with the IP35-E without issue. Different chip but still very new.

Yes, it is strange. In fact from what I have heard the E8400 & E8500 both work in the IP35 series too...... something about that darn E8600

Funny thing is, the E8600 actually worked on my board for 3 days. After I shut down, it just refused to boot up. I never manage to get my E8600 to run on the board after that...

I really like this board but guess I don't really have a choice :(

It never worked for me.
10 different flashes with 6 different files - even used the file method a couple of times.
Call me a sukker for punishment if you want but I really did want to OC my E8600 on an IP35 PRO.
There is someone around here that claims he had an E8600 functioning on an IP35 PRO.
You actually had it working for 3 days?
An E8600?
Doesn't have anything to do with the board revision.

Yup, it was running perfectly fine with the E8600 overclocked to 4.3-4.4GHz for 3 days... until I shut down the system to change some hardware.

I'm just giving my Abit IP35 Pro and E8400 CO to my son to upgrade his
E2160/P965 rig. My new Q9550 EO will be going in a EP45-UD3P.

I really did like my Pro but since Abit is no more it's time to move on.

v 1.1 board with bios 17 with e8400 E0 "works" but cpuid reads it as x6 multi with ram in 5:6, even though it's x9 in 1:1 in bios. haven't run any benches to figure out where I'm at. guess it's back to the e6850. disappointed to say the least. should have done some more research before buying...

Got it figured out. Bios 17 can be found on Abit's website. My e8400 E0 works properly with this bios in a v1.1 board, if I disable all the cpu advanced/extended functions (duh)
