How come there is no discussion about these devices?

Basically they are ARM-based handhelds which run OS based on Linux, Open Source of course. ;) They are not designed to have commercial game market, rather they aim for homebred developers and gamers who which to play old games via emulators and listen to music, read ebooks, watch videos etc. with the device.

GP2X Wiz is a successor for the original console called GP2X.

However, neither(Pandora or GP2X Wiz) have been released yet, but both of them will be shipping in months to come. Pandora went trough a preorder phase and sold out(3000 units) relatively quickly, within days.

Offical Pandora Website (http://openpandora.org/index.php)
GP2X website seems to be gone. However there is http://gp2x.org with some info. Refer wikipedia article for more info.

Both consoles on Wikipedia:
