A friend of mine just got a Samsung 750gb, the one with the 250gb platters. While not the fastest HD on earth, it's 50% faster than his current WD 160gb. He said the average read speed with that driver is ~50mb/s, wich is pretty crappy.

What would be best? Use the old 160gb for OS/pagefile/apps and the Samsung only for mass storage or create a small partition in his new HD for the OS and maybe put the pagefile in the beginning of the old HD...

Any suggestions?

TIA

That was kinda of a no brainer but he's not a XS guy by any means and frankly, I don't think he'll notice the difference between a "fast" and a slow drive. He bought the 750gb HD strictly for his movies, musics, pics, etc. but he won't have a clue when I'll be setting the partition and OS install, anyway. :p:

Thanks, IanB.
